Successful one stage operation for a synchronous, duodenal carcinoma, colonic carcinoma and renal oncocytoma in an adult patient

چکیده
We report a rare case of synchronous duodenal carcinoma, colonic carcinoma and renal oncocytoma successfully treated using a one-stage surgical approach. Potential risk factors for multiple primary malignancies associated with duodenal carcinoma are discussed. This case illustrates several practice points for consideration: 1. Patients presenting with small intestinal carcinomas have a higher than average chance of developing second primary tumors in other organs; this should be taken into consideration during staging and follow-up. 2. For full staging of patients presenting with small bowel tumors, upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy and PET scanning should be considered. 3. A one-stage surgical procedure can be used safely and successfully for multiple synchronous primary tumors.

Duodenal Metastases From Renal Cell Carcinoma Presented With Melena: Review and Case Report
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) metastasis to duodenum is very rare and only a few case reports are available in the literature. We here reported a patient with solitary duodenal metastasis presented with melena six years after right nephrectomy. The patient underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showing ulcerative mass at the second portion of duodenum and biopsy of this mass was consistent wit...
متن کاملAn Unusual Case of Metastatatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Presenting as Melena and Duodenal Ulcer, 16 Years After Nephrectomy; a Case Report and Review of the Literature
Renal cell carcinoma comprises about 2% of adult tumors. The overall 10-year survival rate of patients with RCC after nephrectomy is about 18-27%. The incidence of metastasis of initial RCC is about 24-28%, but this rate after nephrectomy is as high as 51%. The most common site of recurrence is the lung, however liver and bone metastases are common. There are many reported cases with late metast...
متن کاملRhabdomyosarcoma: Nose Presenting As Second Primary with Carcinoma Tongue
Introduction Presence of two primary malignancies is rare and occurs in 3-5% of the cancer patients. As per our extensive internet research, this is the only reported case of a synchronous sino-nasal embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma with squamous cell carcinoma-tongue. The case report is important because of the rare diagnosis and the challenge we faced in the diagnosis and treatment of the pat...
متن کاملParvimonasmicra bacteremia in a patient with colonic carcinoma
Background: Parvimonas micra is a gram-positive anaerobe and a part of the normal commensal flora of the gastrointestinal tract. Factors predisposing to anaerobic bacteremia include malignant neoplasms, periodontal disease, immune deficiencies, chronic renal insufficiency, decubitus ulcers and perforated abdominal viscus. Cases of Parvimonas bacteremia in a patient with esophageal carcinoma and...
متن کاملSynchronous Triple Distinct Urological Tumors in a Patient: Urothelial Carcinoma of Bladder, Unilateral Renal Oncocytoma and Papillary Adenoma
Synchronous multiple primary tumors of the urinary tract are quite rare. The medical literature refers to a small percentage (around 4%) of the incidence of oncocytomas synchronous with other kidney tumors as renal cell carcinoma, pelvic urothelial carcinoma, angiomyolipoma etc. Papillary adenoma is one of those tumors that may rarely coexist with oncocytoma. In this study, we present a case of...
